بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The Father = Fully God.

The Son = Fully God.

They have one essence.

The Father is begetting.

The son is begotten.

Does the essence have both qualities of begetting and being begotten?

Christians, Church Fathers, and Church Theologians say NO.

This means that either the Son or the Father is not fully God, as they lack the matching quality of the essence.

Essence has to be both begotten and begetting since these are qualities of the Son and the Father too who are also the same essence.

There are only two solutions:

Solution 1: Admit Tri-Theism (Three essences) to avoid the contradiction of being begotten and begetting at the same time. This is polytheism.

Solution 2: Modalism (Admitting it’s the essence showing different modes, rather than it being separate persons) to avoid the contradiction of having an essence with mismatched qualities. This has long been deemed a heresy.

Neither of these possible solutions are in-line with Trinitarian Christianity, hence the doctrine is false.
