بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Imam Fakhr ad-Din al-Razi states:
“We have previously mentioned in the matter of the creation of actions (khalq al-af‘āl) that the occurrence of an action by a servant is dependent on motivation (or an inducement)[dāʿī], and we have clarified that the combination of capability and motivation necessitates the action. If that is the case, then the performance of obedience (to Allāh) is a consequence of Allāh’s action and is caused by Him. If that is so, then the occurrence of obedience from Allāh, through the action of the servant, does not necessitate a reward from Allāh. Therefore, it is necessary that the acts of obedience by the servant do not obligate a reward from Allāh.”
